Case # - CR-040270-25QN
Timeline of Events | 10/31-11/01
Around 10pmish - I arrive at the Paris Cafe @ the TWA hotel and notice a man I recognize from prior incidents monitoring me and following my movements inside the venue. This is when I start to feel unsafe , because not only am I by myself - I couldn't understand how he was aware of my location. I ask the staff to seat me directly in front of their cameras in case anything were to happen to me and proceed to order food. I jot down what I’m observing not only for proof but because no one believes me. This same note from my journal is what I hand to the responding officers when they arrive on scene in response to my 911 call.
10:47pm — Police Called - I called the police while still at the bar, hoping to make a report or get help before anything escalated.
10:53pm — Police Response - Responding Port Authority Police officers call my phone trying to get my exact location inside of the bar. When the officers arrive explain that I am being followed and feel threatened. The officers state there is “nothing they can do” and leave without taking a report or providing guidance. Before they left I kept asking them if their body cams were on because I did not see a green blinking light on their body cam like the NYPD Officers. They said yes, I asked them to at least pinky promise that the body cams were on since they claimed they couldn’t take my report but they respectfully refused.
11:38pm - Officers Leave - They offered to escort me to my room but I denied because I no longer trusted them and I did not feel safe with them. The officers leave after I pay my bill.
Roughly 30 Minutes After Police Leave - In the elevator bank, the same individual I tried make a report on approaches me, laughs, and says: “Stop calling the police, babe. There’s nothing that’s going to happen to us.” He then tells me I look like I’m having a rough day and offers to hug me. (At this point I’m crying so I assume that is why he said I look like I’m having a rough day.) I clearly reject the hug and knock his hand away from me.
Immediately After - We both enter the elevator. I step into the corner and purposefully do not press the floor that my hotel room is on because I didn't want him to know. Once he notices I am not pressing the button, he doesn't press the elevator button either. He then says aloud he forgot his wallet (even though you can see the imprint of his wallet in his pants in the video). After he un-provokingly states aloud that he forgot his wallet, I sarcastically mimic him saying “ahhh you forgot your wallet” and proceed to start recording. He then became verbally aggressive, called me a derogatory name, stated 'I am not scared of you,' and struck me. I defended myself during this assault, which resulted in injury to his eye.
Immediately After Altercation - I disengage and leave the scene to remove myself from danger. At the new location I noticed a man from the TWA hotel in the same location as me , on the phone and constantly looking over his shoulder at me. Once the police arrived he disappeared. I think its important to note that I was in an area with no cameras so how the police were able to locate me is unbeknownst to me.
Roughly 20 Minutes Later - The same officers who refused to take my report for harassment/stalking on the same individual who assaulted me return and arrest ME for assault and harassment. I did not have my ID on me, it was in my phone. The officer that refused to take my report took the initiative to inform his officers that even though I did not have my physical ID, I had a copy of it on my phone. I stated aloud - you only know that information because you refused to take my report. He then bowed his head and walked away with my belongings.
